Bárbara Pereira.

Bárbara Pereira has a degree in Genetics and Biotechnology from the University of Trás-osMontes e Alto Douro (UTAD), completed in 2017. Although she has a life sciences background, she decided to expand her other interests by joining a Master's degree in management systems and auditing, which she finished with a specialization in 2019. During her academic years, she joined an international student association, Erasmus Student Network, an organization endorsed by the European Union, as a board member at the national level, in Portugal.

The international and multicultural environment brought to light her abilities in working in multidisciplinary projects and teams. Here she contributed to topics such as policy making, communication and marketing approaches, and event management. The experience gathered in a 4-year long period of interaction with this community was revealing of what she wanted to look for in a future job position.

The opportunity to improve her many interests applied in a single job position arrived when she started working, in January 2020, in the Advanced Scientific Training department of B.ACIS Center for Health Innovation in School of Medicine of the University of Minho. Currently, Bárbara is developing tools to create and promote quality scientific training events related to health and innovation techniques and expertise. She is also helping to design the communication guidelines to promote B.ACIS interaction with people and the world.
