  • Overview

    Learning Objectives

    The main learning objectives of the advanced course are:

     

    1. Revisit the basic concepts of psychopharmacology.
    2. Explore the specificities of the different psychopharmacologic classes.
    3. Analyse the fundamental principles of applied clinical psychopharmacology.
    4. Explore the different international prescribing guidelines and recommendations.
    5. Apply the concepts and guidelines in practical interactive clinical cases.
    6. Explore the future perspectives in Psychopharmacology.

    Methodologies

    The activities of the course will include two distinct methodological approaches:

     

    1. Seminars – seminars by renowned speakers will focus on the major topics in the programme of the course.
    2. Interactive Clinical Cases – interactive clinical cases sessions will allow the application of the concepts addressed in the seminars in specific clinical situations based in real-life clinical experience. In these sessions, the participants will be organized in groups, will be supervised by faculty members and will present and discuss each clinical case.

    Assessment

    The assessment of participants will be based in:

     

    1. Presence in the working sessions.
    2. Participation in the interactive clinical cases.
    3. Final multiple-choice written examination.
