From November 5–7, 2025, Braga hosted the SPAOM 2025 – Spanish and Portuguese Advanced Optical Microscopy Meeting at Fórum Braga. The event brought together over 200 participants from Portugal, Spain, and other countries to share knowledge and innovations in advanced optical microscopy and bioimaging.

The congress was co-organized by PPBI – Portuguese Platform of Bioimaging and REMOA – Red Española de Microscopía Óptica Avanzada, with the collaboration of B.ACIS, ICVS – Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (University of Minho), the INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, and the 3B’s Research Group.

Over three days, SPAOM 2025 featured scientific sessions, technology demonstrations, workshops, and industry stands showcasing the latest equipment and solutions from leading microscopy and imaging companies. The event fostered exchange between researchers, students, and industry professionals, reinforcing Portugal’s role as a key reference in advanced microscopy and bioimaging and strengthening collaboration within the Iberian scientific community.
