The 6th edition of the Capsule Endoscopy Training Program took place in the School of Medicine of the University of Minho from the 12th to the 14th of May in another cooperative edition between B.ACIS and Hospital da Senhora de Oliveira, in Guimarães.

With a mostly practical approach, this advanced training course intends to introduce trainees and update specialist gastroenterologists in endoscopic capsule technology.

The participants had the opportunity to practice and learn the procedures using a software program, analyzing the collected visual information of the capsule trajectory through the small and large intestine, with the support of a faculty of 14 members of the Gastroenterology Service of the Hospital da Senhora de Oliveira.

The diagnostic based on capsule endoscopy is a non-invasive procedure for the patient and allows the gastroenterology professional to obtain more precise and reliable information about the patient’s condition.

Considering its consecutive success, course Director and Coordinator, José Cotter and Bruno Rosa, are already planning the future, promising an edition to come.
